Many thanks to everyone who participated in our first ever Little Caesar’s Pizza Kit fundraiser. Orders have been placed, and we will be receiving the delivery next MONDAY MAY 15th!! Please make arrangements to pick up your order on MONDAY between 3-4pm.
If you didn’t get a chance to participate in the Little Caesar’s Fundraiser, good news! Through the month of May you can help us earn funds through Hannaford Good Karma bags. As you are checking out, grab a BLUE Good Karma reusable grocery bag from the kiosk or at the check out counter. For every bag sold at the Sanford Hannaford, the MCS PTA will earn $1!! Every little bit helps! Thanks so much.
This week is a busy week at MCS. Progress reports are being sent home today. The monthly PTA meeting is this WEDNESDAY at 5pm in the staff room. And this Thursday, May 11 will be our final Family Movie Night of the year. Join us as we watch SING! Bring a picnic dinner, and then enjoy snacks, desserts, and drinks that will be available for purchase. Be sure to pick up a raffle ticket for your chance to win a family movie night basket, including a new copy of SING, popcorn and candy!

Did you know the Straw Poll for the Elementary School Building Project happened this past Wednesday? More than 100 people showed up to show an overwhelming positive support for the project! The next step: A voter referendum on June 13th. Like Build Our Future on Facebook to keep up to date with the project and the next steps. Do you think we will have a snow day tomorrow? How about a delay? It seems even the meteorologists aren’t quite sure yet how much snow we will be getting in our neck of the woods.
Since there is the possibility of enough snow to cause some type closure, make sure you are signed up to receive instant alert messages from Superintendent Mr. Theoharides. Also- refresh yourself with the policy for school closings and where else you may find the information. Mr. Theoharides put out a letter on the schools website identifying the several ways you can find out whether there is a delay or cancellation of school throughout the season. Reminder that this is a short week due to no school in observance of Veteran’s Day on Friday. Also this week- MCS will hold its annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony beginning at 9am on Wednesday, November 9th. Wednesday also brings this month’s PTA meeting; join us at 5pm in the staff room to hear about upcoming events, proposed projects, and to vote on teacher requests for field trips and equipment.

||Dear Parent/Guardians This is reminder that flu shots are being offered to all Sanford Schools students and staff this week between the hours of 9 am and 12 pm on the following days and locations:
Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Margaret Chase Smith School and Willard School
Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Sanford High School and the Junior High School
Friday, October 9, 2015 at Lafayette School, Carl J Lamb School and at the Bridge School
Permission forms need to accompany each student at the time of receiving the shot. Forms are available at each school location for pickup. You can contact your childs school office to have one sent home with your child. Or, you can access the form on Sanford Schools website www.sanford.org
